Kitchen is up and running!!!!

There is a bit of floor tile that needs fixed, a few tile bases,- but, other than that and the new window we plan to put at the back of the room at some point we are done! The plumbing works, the stove works, and i can get filtered water out of the refrigerator door! Who wants to come for dinner?!

Countertops!!!!

The countertops came last night. They forgot to put the hole for one of sinks and in the windowsill, so they went back to the factory, recut the pieces and came back to the house at 9.30. They finally finished a little after 11. I am so happy to have counters. Hopefully we can get the plumbing hooked up quickly and then we will be in buisness for real. No more microwave meals and leftovers!!! We seem to be at that point where the last 3% of work is taking forever. We'll get it done. hopefully soon. Then- we start the basement.

Yeah, we are living at our house!

We still have a few things to finish up, but we are really close to done so we moved in and have now spent two nights at our new house. We should be getting our countertops this week sometime and then we can put the finishing touches on the kitchen.

2nd Floor finished!

Sorry, i didn't take any photos this weekend- too busy working away- but...
the second floor is done, we moved the furniture into the bedrooms. We put all of the living room and dining room furniture in the kitchen and started painting the living room and dining room. The end is in sight!

49 days

Ok, so we are 49 days in, I haven't had internet access for a bit so we have made some progress since the last post. The 2 bedrooms are finished, floors look great (thanks to Niko's dad), kitchen is getting there, we'll be done by this weekend with it. Now the stairway and first floor need painted and the floors polyurethaned.

Laying some tile!

Niko and his dad laid the porcelain tile in the kitchen. It wasn't easy, they were dealing with what really used to be 3 different rooms, so getting it level was a challenge. However they met the challenge, and the floor is looking great. I sanded the doors down and on Sunday Andrea and Dahlia came and helped me clean the basement and put together cabinets.

Officially Moved, unofficially homeless...

Well, our furniture has moved into our new house. Unfortunatley we haven't. We are crashing with the inlaws until we can paint the walls and polyurethane the floors. Hopefully we can kick it into high gear. There hasn't been any apparent progress in the past few days and it is hard on the morale.
